Luther College presents the seventh annual Student Leadership Awards

Luther College's Launching Luther Leaders program announced the recipients of the seventh annual Student Leadership Banquet where they honored individuals and groups for their contribution to the college's mission of service. Award recipients include the Luther College Ballroom & Swing club for the Dancing with the Luther Stars program, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee's Norse Unity Bowl, Luther professor Lisa Lantz, Luther senior Allison Meier and the Hola-Enlaces program.

Luther to renovate outdoor tennis courts to state-of-the-art surface

A renovation of outdoor tennis courts this summer will mark the beginning of a new era for Luther College tennis. The college's 12 courts will be resurfaced using a state-of-the-art method resulting in a more durable, stable and consistent playing surface. This $1 million renovation project is fully funded by a generous gift from an alumni couple who wishes to remain anonymous.

Isak Swanson

Luther senior Isak Swanson accepted to attend Summer Seminar series

Luther College senior Isak Swanson has been accepted to participate in the Summer Seminar series hosted by the Institute for Humane Studies, a nonprofit educational organization. At the weeklong program, held at Bryn Mawr College, Swanson will have the opportunity to explore issues in the classical liberal tradition of thought alongside top academics and fellow students.

Luther College reduces campus-wide spraying

In an effort to be more sustainable, Luther College has reduced campus-wide spraying to an annual herbicide-spraying application. This spring, the college will instead spot spray in limited areas as dictated by need.

Luther students Frie and Kime awarded Karen Julesberg Scholarship

Luther College sophomores Anneleise Frie and Lily Kime have each received a Karen Julesberg Scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year. The $1,000 scholarship, created by Karen Julesberg of Madison, Wisconsin, Luther class of 1960, benefits Luther students involved in the TRIO Achievement Program. TRIO is a federally-funded program providing holistic, individualized support and comprehensive programming that promotes students' academic success, personal development and sense of community.

Øyvind T. Gulliksen

Luther College to award honorary degrees

Luther College will award honorary degrees to John A. Nunes, former president and chief executive officer of Lutheran World Relief, and Øyvind T. Gulliksen, professor emeritus of American literature and culture at the University College of Southeast Norway, at Luther's Commencement ceremony Sunday, May 21, in Carlson Stadium on the Luther campus.

Luther to celebrate Commencement May 21

Luther College will celebrate Commencement at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 21, in Carlson Stadium when President Paula Carlson will confer the Bachelor of Arts degree on Luther's class of 2017. John A. Nunes, president of Concordia College–New York, will give the commencement address.

Luther College students receive Kuh and Krahn Family Awards

Luther College students Janet Irankunda and Wyatt Anians have been selected to receive the Kuh Family "Positively Luther" Award and Krahn Family Student Life Service Award, respectively. The two have been chosen for the 2016-17 academic year based on their contributions to the Luther community and their participation in activities that embrace the spirit and mission of Luther College.
